Day 27: Paper Towel Dispenser Reflection.

This paper towel dispenser is in a locker room, and I told one of my friends to look at it, so I could take a picture of her reflection. Here is one of the pictures I took.

Day 26: My dad

This is a picture of my dad that I took.

Day 22: Quad Cities Marathoner

Congratulation to my mom, today she ran her 3rd marathon, the Quad Cities Marathon! I got a picture of her not long after she finished and cropped it a lot. Here is the result I got. I never crop photos like this, but I kind of like it. Congratulations to all the finishers!

Day 21: Bear with Flag

Saturday we were at a family members' house and they have a little bear statue, and the bear is holding a flag. I am putting in two pictures as an example of focusing on different things. When you take pictures, you don't just click the button. You look at what you are taking a picture of, and make lots of decisions. One of those is, if you have a somewhat shallow depth of field, what are you going to focus on? The first picture is focusing on the flag, and the second one focuses on the bear. I like the first one better, but you can decide for yourself which is better.

Day 20: Checker Board

Well, tonight, I needed a picture for today, and I saw this checker board sitting on the arm of the couch, so I took a few macro pictures. Here's one.

Day 19: Volleyball

Today, my sister had her first volleyball game, and I took some pictures of it. This is the two groups in time-out.

Day 18: Matt

I saw that there was a pencil pouch on top of a toy, and space in between that you could see through. I told Matt to stand behind it, and I took a picture of him, using the toy and pencil pouch as framing for the picture.

Day 17: Jars

My sister can make jelly, and my grandma makes some and gives it to us. It's really good, so it goes fast and we have a lot of the empty jars that were washed when the jelly was gone. They are sitting next to some bananas, so I kept the bananas in the picture to for a variation, and the picture wouldn't be just jars.

Day 16: Friend

This is a picture of one of my friends, and what I like about it is, you can kind of see her reflection on the bus seat in front of her.

Day 15: Ghost and Scarecrow

Halloween is coming (okay, maybe not for a month and a half, but close enough), so I have that theme today. First, a light-up scarecrow. It took a looooong time to get the right picture because it was really hard to get it clear. Then, I took a picture of a ghost (actually it's the shoe: called Ghost 4, by Brooks). My mom just got these for running, and she's wearing them to her marathon next weekend. This picture also took a long time because I couldn't put the camera on the tripod so I had to keep it still with my sister's stuffed animal.

Day 14: Claire and Matt

Today Claire and Matt went and played outside so I took some pictures of them. This one I like because it shows both of them sitting together, and the view from the back kind of gives it some feeling. It makes the picture seem youthful, but you still don't necessarily know or have to know them.

Day 13: Piano

Friday I took a macro picture of a piano. The flash lit up the front part of the keyboard, but the rest of the picture is dark, so you focus on the lighter part.

Day 12: Stool

I haven't posted in a few days, but I've taken pictures. This is the picture I took on Thursday of a stool, kind of looking up at it.

Day 11: Motion

For this picture, Noelle sat on a stool and I had her sit still while Claire and Matt jumped up and down as I took it. Because of that, you can see their motion.

Day 10: Beads

I didn't have a patriotic picture on 9/11, but today I have one. The main focus is some red beads, and in the background, there is a blurred-out flag.

Day 9: Michael

I had a cross country meet and on the bus, I took a picture of my friend, Michael. She is one of our managers.

Day 8: Church

On the way home from church, my dad saw this church so we pulled over and took some pictures. This is a picture of the church, showing the field in foreground. There was a farm around where we were, so I took a picture of that, too.

Day 7: Cheese

Today we went to Fazoli's, and I was going to take a self portrait of myself reflected in the parmesan cheese container. Then I took one with someone in the background, and liked it better.

Day 6: Medals

I was very busy, so I couldn't post to my blog. I was able to get a picture taken, though. It is a picture of some medals one of my friends has.

Day 5: glasses

Looking through glasses is different for some people than others, but for this picture I focused on what you could see through the glasses, making that part a lot clearer than the rest of the picture.

Day 4: wooden fruit

I used my camera for this one, and I took a picture of a decoration: wooden fruit. I had to use macro to get it in focus, and showed its reflection in the mirror. I then edited it to make it brighter.

Day 3: Legos

Today, Matt got out some legos to play with so I got the camera and took a lot of pictures, but I liked this one. There is a lot of color, and your eye is immediately drawn to the sharp part of the picture: the car.

Day 2: Praying Mantis and Claire

Today my family found a praying mantis so I took some pictures. For this picture, I focused on its head and eyes. I also took a picture of my sister, Claire, looking at the bug.

Day 1: Flutes

This is the first day of my daily photo project! I am in 4H, and I decided that doing a photo every day would be a really cool project! I got the idea from my dad. He has been doing a photo a day project all year. This is his website.

He has some really cool pictures on there, and I thought it would be a good, creative way to do a photography project instead of taking one photo.

For this picture, I took a macro picture of two flutes. I put the flute on a piece of white foam board for the picture, so nothing would be distracting in the background. I focused on the buttons in the front, but not the plain area on the flute, and I kept the blurry buttons in the picture to complete the look.
